This is a very extremely sad time in America and those who love children all over the world are sharing in our pain. Charm at age 7, can't understand how this could happen to these amazing children and the loving caregivers at their school. We send our deepest sympathy and love to the victims and their families and friends. There are no words, simply no words…. No words…. we are so very sorry, very sorry….
Many young children will wonder if school is safe? That is the question that Charm asked us? As parents we all feel helpless to think that these young precious children would have to die in such a horrible way. The brave caregivers who were willing to die to spare more children from being harmed. We must teach our children that we love them very very much and to always, always do good! This will help to make the world a better place.
The grief that the families and friends are feeling in Newtown Connecticut is felt around the world. It is okay to tell kids that this happened and share with them that this is a very sad time for the world. This is a time to let kids know that they can make a difference by doing good in the world. Charm is still so very confused by this horrible event and we must try to help her deal with her feelings. All children are impacted by Newtown Connecticut and we must help them deal with their feelings.
President Obama is expected to arrive in Newtown later on Sunday to meet with the families of victims and to join in the mourning at an evening vigil, the White House announced.
