Baby Jogger Performance Single Jogging Stroller

There are an endless number of things we need for our babies. Safety is the number one concern. Choosing the right cribs, car seats, monitors, and strollers can give parents that necessary peace of mind. 10rate.com editors Brittany Rowland and others have taken a look to find out which are the best across many different categories. They rated these items on a scale of 1 to 10 and assigned Best Value, Best Quality, and Best Budget editor's choice awards. They looked at factors like price, recall history, ease of assembly, size, and style to rate the baby products.

Finding a safe place for a new baby to sleep is one of the most important decisions a parent can make. The Child Craft Eastland Lifetime was the crib to top the Baby Crib Reviews list. It received a rating of 9.5 out of 10 and the Best Quality award. This crib is "billed as the only bed parents will ever need to purchase for their child. It converts from a crib to a toddler bed, then to a full size bed, although the full size bed rails will need to be bought separately. The crib mattress – sold separately – can be adjusted to three different heights. The sides are stationary, to prevent little fingers from getting pinched by hinges or moving parts," reviewers said.

Once the baby is sound asleep, parents may be rewarded a moment or two of relaxation. A baby monitor is necessary for keeping eyes and ears on a sleeping baby from a distance. For the Baby Monitor Comparisons list, reviewers chose the Motorola MBP33 as the best choice. Reviewers said, "Parents will appreciate the peace of mind that comes with this digital video baby monitor from Motorola. The model offers three screen sizes; the medium one, at 2.8 inches, runs at $169.90, and is large and clear enough to give you a good view of your infant. The monitor offers a crisp picture resolution, even in the dark with infrared night vision."

A car seat is the next necessary thing for a parent to have. Babies have doctors visits, they must accompany parents on errands, and of course, there is family to visit. These all require car trips. The Safety 1st Comfy Carry Elite Plus topped the Baby Car Seat Ratings list and it also won the Best Budget award. It's tough to find that combination. This one holds "infants four to 22 pounds in weight and as tall as 29 inches. It features an adjustable infant insert for really tiny babies and an adjustable up-front five-point safety harness. Some users complain of car seats being too big and bulky to fit in the back seat, but the Safety 1st Comfy Carry's small size allows it to fit into tight spaces," the review noted.

Carrying a baby around town is probably not the best way to go about errands or shopping. Strollers are the answer to that problem. Baby gets to rest, and Mom's arms will be thankful. For the Baby Strollers Ratings list, reviewers chose the Baby Jogger Performance Series as the best choice. Parents can "combine a good run with an outing with baby, this is the stroller built for some speed. It has been described as being 'designed with the serious runner in mind.' Its three spoked wheels resemble bicycle wheels, and a one-piece frame, with no hinges or joints that could weaken with repeated use."

As the baby grows, a booster will be needed for the car instead of a bulky car seat. At the top of the Booster Seat Reviews list is the Sunshine Kids Monterey. It received a rating of 9.5 but won no editor's choice awards. However it has won other awards. Reviewers noted, "The Monterey performed exceptionally well on safety tests. This seat was crash tested according to the New Car Assessment Program, and it passed the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration's crash test standards. It's in compliance with FMVSS (Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards.) It also received an iParenting Media Award and was named a Consumer's Digest Best Buy."
